
Saurashtra Road Trip 2024
Our first road trip with friends turned out to be an unforgettable adventure. From the moment we hit the highway, every mile felt exciting — laughter in the car, music on repeat, and endless conversations that made the journey just as memorable as the destinations. The long drives never felt tiring. Instead, they became the highlight of the trip — smooth roads, changing landscapes, spontaneous tea breaks, and unplanned stops that created the best memories. We enjoyed every second of driving, soaking in the freedom that only a road trip can offer. What made this trip truly special was sharing it with friends — the fun, the small surprises along the way, and the feeling of exploring new places together. It wasn’t just about reaching a destination; it was about the journey, the bonding, and the stories we’ll be talking about for years to come. This road trip wasn’t just travel — it was an experience, and one we’d happily relive all over again.
Covering 600 kms in a day sounded tough, but the excitement and beautiful roads made it feel effortless. Short breaks, good company, and open highways kept the energy high throughout the journey.The comfortable rooms and spacious premises at Maa Chamunda Aawaas helped us relax instantly on arrival. The evening was spent playing cards and racket, and we wrapped up the day with music, dance, and lots of laughter.

Our first breakfast break, it set the perfect tone for the journey. Hot Kathiyawadi food, simple flavors, and relaxed conversations made the morning feel just right before hitting the road again.

The day ended with an unlimited Gujarati thali that instantly brought our energy back. Add chilled chaas to it, and all the road-trip tiredness simply disappeared.
Day two began with breakfast at Chotila, followed by a relaxed lunch en route. The evening was spent visiting Swaminarayan Mandir, Dwarka, seeking darshan at Dwarkadhish Temple, and exploring the local market. We later enjoyed dinner at Shrinath Dining Hall (Masi Nu Rasoda), before checking in at Gayatri Shaktipith, Dwarka, where the sea lay right next to our stay. The day ended peacefully, soaking in the calming sea view.

The day began early with darshan of Shree Chamunda Mataji, Chotila. Climbing nearly 1,000 steps in the calm morning hours was challenging yet deeply peaceful, and the view from the top made every step feel worth it.

Lunch break at Hotel Highway Hari came just at the right time. Fresh food, a short rest, and we were ready to continue the journey.

We dined at Shrinath Dining Hall (Masi Nu Rasoda), famous for its authentic Kathiyawadi Gujarati food. Though we waited nearly an hour for our turn, every bite made it worth it — a true must-visit place for food lovers.
Day three unfolded as a sacred journey through Dwarka, where early morning darshan of Shree Dwarkadhish set a peaceful tone for the day. From the gentle devotion at Rukmini Devi Mandir to the blessed darshan of Shree Nageshwar Jyotirling, every stop felt spiritually complete despite the holiday crowds. The drive itself became part of the experience — crossing the newly opened Sudarshan Setu, capturing moments in photos and reels, and riding through the narrow lanes of Bet Dwarka in an auto to reach hidden temples. The day gently concluded at Bet Dwarka Temple and Makardhwaj Hanuman Mandir (Hanuman Dandi), where peaceful darshan, temple-served dinner, and a quiet night stay wrapped the journey in calm and devotion.

Darshan of Rukmini Devi is believed to lovingly complete the darshan of Dwarkadhish. It is said that visiting Maa Rukmini’s temple brings wholeness to the Dwarka pilgrimage.

Darshan of Shree Nageshwar Jyotirling was deeply meaningful and truly worth the wait. Though it was crowded due to the holidays, standing before one of the sacred Jyotirlingas felt immensely blessed, and we later had a simple, comforting lunch at the temple canteen.

A place of deep faith and devotion.It is the rare shrine where Lord Hanuman is worshipped alongside his son, Makardhwaj ji.
Day four unfolded along the roads from Beyt Dwarka to Somnath, weaving together devotion, history, and the sea. From the sacred stories at Shree Golden Dwarka Holy Place and the quiet ideals at Kirti Mandir, to legends at Jambuvan Caves, every stop felt timeless.The journey softened by the waves at Shivrajpur Blue Flag Beach and Madhavpur Beach, before devotion continued at Sudama Temple and Shree Hari Temple. The day ended warmly with a comforting meal at Bapu Ni Khichdi and a peaceful night in Somnath.

Day five flowed from devotion to adventure — beginning with timeless darshan at Shree Somnath Temple, faith restored through centuries and legends unfolding at Triveni Sangam, Pandav Gufa, Surya Mandir, and Bhalka Tirth Temple. The journey ended on a thrilling note at Gir Interpretation Zone — lions in the wild, smiles all around, and comfort food closing a soulful day.

The jeep safari at Gir Interpretation Zone was thrilling, with close encounters of lions in the wild, followed by a fun food break with pizza, burgers, and Chinese — a refreshing change after days of Gujarati meals.
The day moved effortlessly from wild to divine — exploring the many lives of nature at Sakkarbaug Zoological Park, followed by laughter and indulgence over a larger-than-life Kumbhakaran Thali at Patel Restaurant and Banquet Hall. The journey rose skyward at Shree Ambaji Mandir, Girnar, where the ropeway winds, vast views, and divine calm met at the summit, before bhajans echoed through time at Narsinh Mehta No Choro.Faith deepened at Jalaram Bapa Temple, Virpur, where service flows as freely as devotion, and light turned sacred stories into living moments at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Akshar Deri Gondal. The day finally rested in peace with a late-night arrival at Salangpur, finding comfort and quiet sleep at Gopalanand Swami Yatrik Bhavan.

The day began in deep devotion at Salangpur Hanuman Temple, with early morning darshan and the sacred Mangala Aarti. Moments were captured with the King of Salangpur, standing tall as the majestic 54-foot Hanuman, before peaceful darshan at the Swaminarayan Temple settled the soul. After lunch in Salangpur, we set out toward our final destination, carrying blessings and memories homeward.

As we left Cassa Marina Beach Resort and began the drive back home, the journey slowly shifted from roads and destinations to memories and emotions. Every temple bell, ocean breeze, highway stretch, laugh, and shared silence replayed in our minds, reminding us that this trip was never just about places — it was about faith, friendship, freedom, and moments that stayed with us. We returned home tired yet fulfilled, carrying stories, blessings, and a road trip that will forever remain close to the heart.
